I Used To Have A Crush On This Fool...

When I was about fifteen. But now, watching re-runs, I see what a complete idiot he is. Immature, self-absorbed, even Anthony Bourdain and his friend called him out (not to his face but still) for 'prostituting' himself instead of focusing on the food. He demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and even I can see that the guy was in over his head. I kind of lost respect for him. Especially when they kept milking his relationship with his mum.

I kind of feel bad for him because he had good intentions (and you know what they say about those). But he failed as a leader, as a professional. And he sold his soul to Mark Burnett.

Anyone else disillusioned?

I never had a crush on him, but I agree with everything you said. He made himself look really bad. He spent more time posing for pictures, than he did cooking in the kitchen. The way he treated his employess was terrible, he'd be a horrible person to work for. This show made me really dislike him.
