The direction, editing, and screenplay isn't great, but the overall mood is very bleak and convincing. Has anyone seen this movie or want to discuss it, besides the 68 who voted for it?

I agree that it was very bleak and I had the proverbial lump in my throat throughout. I realize that it was a low-budget movie but for that it was still stunning. Lana, while so victimized really triumphed at the end and Darko her own brother and pimp got his and then some. I could not imagine leaving a horror of an existance and then immigrating to another. The music was wonderful and the tone so depressing(believe it was shot in Chicago?). I found Darko and Lana's characters very well acted. That's all for now!
