Just Now Remember This Movie After Going Through My DVD's

I was in Afghanistan 10 years ago and bought one of those bootleg "hit or miss" DVD's at a bazaar that may or may not mess up your computer or DVD player. It was on a "Robin Williams" feature DVD that also featured Good Morning Vietnam, What Dreams May Come, the bizarre One Hour Photo, and that one set in an alternate future about people's lives being filmed, forgot the name of it.

Anyway, this was a rather strange movie. His character is "special needs", but I think all it was with him was just Robin Williams being himself. Witty, ironic humor, sensitive, childlike, all the characteristics of highly functioning autism.

I was about to watch it, but my computer won't play it, dang it. All I remember about the main character was that he was living in France escaping his past and had a mother commit suicide when he was at the most impressionable period of his life. And the boy later played Chekov in the Star Trek alternate remakes.
