Guess Who VS Guess Who's Coming To Dinner.

SPOILERS.

The reverse storyline is related to the original, but both are still 2 different movies.

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner was a drama. Guess Who is a comedy.

I personally prefer Guess Who.

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner was boring (in my opinion).

Guess Who wasn't that funny except for the scene where he's driving him to the hotel, he puts the radio on and that song pops up "he was black as the night, she was whiter than white" or something like that, that scene was hilarious in my opinion.

The girlfriend was annoying at times, but at the same time he wasn't straight up with her from the get go about his job.

Simon allowed the dad to make him his b****, the moment he started lying and taking the dad's bait to try and impress him is when the dad practically owned him (psychologically).

Personally, I've always found the original film, GWCTD, to be overrated. Nonetheless I still watch it from time to time. I simply cannot pass up Spencer and Tracy in their last film together (and his very last film) with another screen legend, Sidney Poitier, thrown in. And I'm taking into account who absolutely awful the actress playing the daughter was.

Unfortunately the plot was extremely contrived and the dialogue often did not ring true but was just characters given important ideas they needed to express. Still it was a groundbreaking film, and great social change never comes neat and easy.
