Shaky cam is just plain lazy
It's a lazy technique used by lazy filmmakers.

It wasn't in 2004.

Oh I agree. Carrying a heavyass piece of equipment and trying to keep up with actors who are running ahead of you is totally lazy. I mean, with that kind of laziness I could actually lose forty pounds in one week.

It's one thing during an action scene but when it's just two characters talking the shaky cam is nauseating.
shareit depends on the scene. Sometimes it's a bad move to have the shaky cam and sometimes it's prefect for reflecting the concept of the scene. If the protagonist is running and terrified it's really good or if protagonist is dizzy it's good. It has to reflect a feeling relevant to the story otherwise it just pisses people off (even though most people complain about shaky cams all the time I understand their use most of the time)
shareIt IS lazy. And frankly, insults my intelligence.
The few who do defend it, have the attention span of a mountain goat,,, , and therefore think it's 'cool'.
Frankly autocorrect, I'm getting a little tired of your shirt
the movie was supposed to be more of a documentary thats what the director was going for the whole handheld documentary style
shareSome of the time it's was slick and intense but the car chase towards the end was *beep* awful you literally couldn't see *beep*
