the ability to read maps quickly

Do you have it?

I wish... it's a very impressive, not to mention extremely handy, skill to have especially when ya go to new cities.

Once a few of us went to London, UK (which btw is huge & complicated) for a weekend, and this guy from Chicago who has the same kind of knack as Bourne in reading maps, did a great job leading us around - and for the most part it was on public transit! :)

Though I do not agree, my wife says I have this skill..... any new city we go to, after just one look at a map, that map is in my head for days, and within a couple of hours I am walking around like a local.

I have the ability to read a map with a photographic memory, and use it in my brain as if it were still in front of me. Spatial relationships and networks seem to gel in my mind very easily.
