Alex Jone's radio show

Has anyone else checked out Mr. Jone's radio show? I've listened in a few times over the internet at shoutcast.com. He seems to be a little over-excited at times, but he does seem to do his best to stick with "proofs" from the main stream press and foreign news sources, but some of the conclusions he draws seem a little far-fetched.

I was just curious if anyone else had checked it and had any comment.

I've just started listening to him. I get what you say too. I think his over enthusiasm and sometimes stretches are what make people disregard him.

If he would tone down a little and just follow the facts he's giving out, I think he could draw more people to realize that he's not so far off base as they think. I looked further into some aspects he spoke about and was very very surprised that it was accurate.

It does seem that Mr. Jones makes some really good points about the loss of rights and lessening of tolerance for difference of viewpoints presented in readily available media. And the allusions he makes to various works distopic fiction (1984, Brave New World, They Live, Blade Runner, Gattica) do seem to illustrate his overall points and are interesting. But the whole Illuminati controlling Free Masonry controlling the Royal Family controlling the White House controlling the world does seem kind of far-fetched ( I’m probably leaving out some more organizations like the Roman Catholic church, WalMart, Lockheed – Martin, Haliburton, ect…).

Even if the overall plot is far-fetched, some of the concrete issues are worthy of a fair amount of thought. If society arrives at 1984, it won’t really matter if it happens by accident or design. It does seem to me that we are moving toward Big Brother by way of Big Mommy, more and more of our lives are regulated by permit, surveillance and “play nice by not saying anything that might hurt someone’s feelings”. I don’t think the answer is do away with all government or police, but we do have to realize that western society is based on freedoms and not restrictions. It would seem to me that we all basically understand that we have personal rights and freedoms, but we also have personal responsibilities not to harm others while exercising them. As an example, I should be able to make racist remarks in public, but I should also know not to do that because I could harm others by doing so (and all the racists I’ve heard speaking sound like complete morons). We have had a couple of trials over the Canadian ‘Hate Speech’ laws and they have been upheld, but they could be expanded to include a lot of other subjects that aren’t ‘politically correct’ and could wind up stifling real debate. Viewpoints like Alex’s, while extreme and occasionally kooky-sounding, do spark some really interesting trains of thought if you consider the issues and not the theories.

I listen to him regularly. I love his show for the simple reason that he discusses and analyzes issues and news reports that are largely ignored by the mainstream media. Any time there is a new abuse of power or a danger to liberties he is one of the first and only to talk about it.

He also has a weekly tv show that encapsulates most of the issues of the week. I enjoy watching it when I can. It is presented on prisonplanet.tv.

"i can't recommend alex enough ive learnt more from him and truth seekers like him then i have watching cnn fox news for the last ten years"

WOW, CNN and FOX NEWS, you must be like the most well educated/informed guy ever. If your source of information is narrowed down to only watching CNN/FOX NEWS you must be living in a bubble. Well, now I've read the choir. No wonder Alex is preaching. Jesus Christ, what's wrong with you people?

It's not even funny! It's just sad...and I'm not French.

Alex talks the truth. The way he says it is irrelavent to the content. The New World Order is for real and we are all in danger. Anyone who buys Alex Jones videos is authorized to make copies and pass them out for free to wake people up. Everyone needs to watch his videos. The things that are going on in this world are all pre-planned in there own documents. We are being brain washed into not caring about ourselves or each other. WAKE UP

reply

I think the Wake Up call is long overdue. But what is the means for change. We know that only a moderate democrat is going to be able to slowly effect change. We've gone down the road of revolution before, and it only enhances the government's "security" lockdown pre-emptive op. Remember the N.Y. Republican Convention security posture. The key is a moderate, steady approach to include evangelicals that were underestimated, and pushed Bush into the White House. Were going through a period of moral dissent, and Bush speaks to that directly. It will take a moderate southerner with appeal and hopefully a good running mate; preferably female, to take back the White House for the Demos, and get this thing back on track. Not a status quo, but a new American Revolution. one, where government works for the people and doesnt watch the people.

I listen to his show on a daily basis. Lately I've been downloading his daily radio show as podcasts on Linux (using Amarok 1.4) and Windows (using iTunes 4.9+ and Winamp 5.24). I plan on saving his shows to CD-R and handing copies out to other people.

I get most of my news from his show and his websites (infowars.com and prisonplanet.com). And I'm also proud to be one of his MySpace friends (also friends with Paul Joseph Watson and his brother Steve Watson).
