Does anyone know if and when Series 3 will be on DVD? I have both of the other series on DVD but I only started to get into it on the third series on TV, so really enjoyed it.
I have emailed the BBC and they said there is no plans of yet. However, it only makes sense to bring that out on DVD if the other two are already?
Also, does anyone think its similar to 'Afterlife' on ITV?
Like you said yourself: unfortunately no plans as of yet. Which is pretty dissapointing.

I know, Im so annoyed.
I would be very surprised (and annoyed) if it didn't make its way to DVD at some point - wait until series 4 broadcasts and I'm sure it'll get a release. Series 1 was released a whole year after it was broadcast and just because they say 'there are no plans as yet' that doesn't, as far as I am aware at least, mean they aren't intending to release it, just that they haven't fixed a date yet etc. Also, the first 2 series were not released by BBC, they were Sony Pictures releases, so maybe you should write to them instead.
Yes, I think this show does bear some similarities with ITV's Afterlife, but there are also many differences. In my opinion they are both fantastic - Afterlife just has the edge over SoS for me but I've only seen series 1 of SoS. I missed series 3 due to being out of the country and series 2 arrived today, so will get round to watching that soon.
With SOS being quite popular and with over 1000 sells with just amazon for Series 2, they could benefit so much by releasing Series 3. But I suppose if they do release it near Series 4, they wouldn't have to advertise it since the show will be out and people will be on the internet searching about the show, coming accross the DVDs. If that makes any sense...:S
shareThe same is happening for Spooks; series 4 is being released just before series 5 starts. But that's a Contender release and this is Sony Pictures so that's nothing conclusive. Whereabouts did you get those sales figures for series 2? Did you get it from the Amazon sales rank? Because that means that it's the 1,961st most popular product, not that it's sold 1,961 copies!

Having another browse I think that might have been a bit of an exaggeration - the lowest rankings I could find are ones approaching 100,000.

I am currently unaware of any plans to release this series. However, if you would like to make a suggestion for its release, I would suggest you put it in
writing to 2 entertain who are responsible for the DVD releases of all BBC

- So all I can suggest if you want a DVD release of them is that you send them a letter and tell others to do the same.
