The girl who plays ellie is neither fat, nor has curley hair. the cast is totaly wrong! and these girl arnt exactly 13!!! its so annoying that it all wrong. and where is that gay guy??? hes funny. and Russell was awful in this role as well. the only person cast well is her step mum. does any one agree with me?
I think you are soooooo wrong about the cast. They are a collection of talented actors and actresses who give their best to the characters they play, particularly Amy Kwolek(Nadine Foster). She is the best actress of the lot.
Lynskeyium2005 - have you even read the books? The characters (except Nadine) are nothing at all like they are in the books. It doesnt matter whether they are good actress' or not, the fact is, is their portrayal of the girls is completely false!
If only i had a shrunken talking head to help me out of this scrape!
Actually, I have read Girls In Love, Girls Out Late & Girls Under Pressure. They were available together in one big paperback, and I think that in certain parts of it, the programme makers improved on some of the character traits and storylines.
I'm so agreed. I can't stand who they cast as Ellie. When Ellie was complaing about her "puppy fat" in the show it just made me so angry! Nadine is pretty useless as well in my opinion, she is gothic but I don't think the character is right. Magda is probably in my opinion the best. I think the show should of stuck to more of the storylines in the book.
i think girls in love is alright but have u seen the girl who plays zoe they should have cast somone pretty i just didnt get it she looked annorexic ans she weren't attractive and yet we were supposed to believe ellie wer bothered about her (i'm talking about the episode were ellie met dan's new gorlfriend in the first series)
Russell is gorgeous, not awful. People have to remember this is a tv show they arent gonna have the best actors/actresses. I think the portrayal of ellie is awful tho...
it doesn't matter what they look like physically up to a point, if they ressemble their characters, it should be alright. ellie was insecure, nadine was a goth and magda was a vamp and thats what they portrayed in the series
Yes. Magda was supposed to be blonde and Caucasian. I really dislike how they changed this. It just seemed like they had to put in the "token black girl" to appease everybody which is so politically correct it's disgusting. It's not like they changed ethnicities of characters in Harry Potter. Dean Thomas didn't suddenly become white! If that happened there'd be outrage! I just don't understand it.
Ellie is described as 'round' in bodyshape, not fat, but just average, with glasses and wild curly hair. Nadine dressed a bit gothic-like (she loved black in the books) and was tall and slender with long black hair.
