Daisy McCredie..... ?

My daughter loves this, I'm usually washing up the breakfast stuff whilst it's on but do sing along to the theme tune (albeit quite badly..!). I've always sung '.....Taking it easy with DAISY McCredie....blah de blah de blah'.
It's only recently that I've realised that there is no Daisy and just this Edie person! I'm certain that the singer sings DAISY McCredie though! Was this supposed to be her name before being changed to Edie? Would this explain why there are HUGE daisies painted all over her bus and garage....?
Hmmmm....!
