Ulli Lommel version

Yes, I know this isn't the Ulli Lommel version, however, I want to warn anyone that might think about renting it.

The Ulli Lommel version has not only poor music, cast, acting, and plot, but to top it off, the film likes to flicker between white/black, making you wish you were lucky enough to have a seizure so you could pass out and stop watching it. The acting by far is the worst feature of the film. It won't scare you; it won't excite you; it won't even make you sleepy; it will just bore you. This movie is worse than anything I have ever seen on MST3K, and they have some very low quality movies indeed.

If you value your time and your sanity, warn everyone else you know that the Ulli Lommel version of Black Dahlia is a piece of trash and only serves to tarnish the movie industry as a whole.

Again, I'm sorry for making this a bit of an off-topic thread, but it needs to be said to end the confusion surrounding these two versions; the Ulli Lommel version doesn't have its own page because it's such a poor movie.

Having warned everyone I can, I am off to demand that Ulli Lommel reimburse me for exactly 81 minutes of my life.

Sounds awful! You should post something about it on the page for Ulli Lommel. It sounds like it's going to taint things for whenever Abed's movie comes out, same goes for the De Palma version when it comes to dvd. Ulli Lommel and Uwe Boll should start making movies together huh?

jesus. i just saw the ulli lommel version, what a piece of crap. i can't even believe it. so, that's funny that imdb doesn't even have anything on it. hahah.

Is the Lommel version the one that has a modern day killer recreating the Dahlia killing or something along those lines?

reply

That storyline is the Abed movie. What is the plot to the Lommel movie?

reply

I saw that Lommel version and I didn't realize it was different than the one I saw previews for. It was just truly awful. The plot is just that though. Mondern day killers recreating the brutal murder with a predictable ending. It is very bloody and campy, and reminds me of those old 1970's B movies.

reply

yeah the first time i saw it i thought it was a 70s movie..i think b/c of the grainy style of the film.

hasn't anyone ever told you that smoking was bad for you?

no..no one..THANK YOU.

Uwe Boll can at least con people into renting him some professional equipment...

Mike Sterling
Stupid movies can be fun...But not all of them.

Just so you know, IMDB does have an entry for the Lommel version now:

Where would you have seen Abed's film anyway? It still hasn't been released aside from some small screenings in Los Angeles and a festival in Florida. Did you see his other movies? Maybe he's improved a lot?
