My question

My question is what happened to Martin's father in the movie. They started off by showing him and then forgot all about him.

yeah, that's right... he appears again when "Vudu" calls Carla's father to raise the ransom money because Martin escaped...

P.S.: did you notice that the director Jonathan Jakubowicz appears in the casino scene? when the kidnappers call Martin's father...

Jonathan, are you Eduardo's nephew? the owner of "Stud Mi-Jak" here at Ven?

reply

Ohh.. no i didn't notice the director i didn't know who he was. I really liked this movie.

reply

why did jojak delete his posts? they were extremely informative...

reply

Sorry about that. The people at the casino are the director´s father and grandmother. And the director's brother is the one that gets into the Wolkswagen at the beggining. The director is not in the movie.

I thought the same thing. He didn't know his son had escaped and the kidnappers didn't contact him again. His father wouldn't have known he was dead, either. Strange to throw it out there (unless it was simply used as a tool for us to understand why they were trying to get more from Carla's Dad.)

well, since he was with carla's father when the kidnappers called to demand more money from him because martín had escaped, it is safe to assume that martíns father just went home, feeling relieved and glad to know that his son was alive and free from his captors, possibly expecting him to go home sometime soon...

most likely, by the time carla was found and returned home, martín's body had not yet been found, probably having been dumped in the guaire river or any dumpster in caracas. so, just as it happened in the movie, if this kidnapping had happened in real life martín would have just vanished from the story altogether... his body would have appeared a few days later, or perhaps never.

hope that helps you out on your doubt (seeing as how no one else cared to answer and decided to just gossip about the director's family).

Were those real cops at the end of the movie or just posing as policia? And what were they going to do to her, take her to the station, re-kidnap her, rape her and kill her? I didn't get that. I know the policia are corrupt, but that's a little extreme.

De pana.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."

I just wondered how the 'Good Baddie' knew what had happened. How did he know to go back and save her? Did he see the police pick her up and knowing how corrupt the system was realise that they would not help her?
