I've requested a region 1 dvd

I'm considering getting a region 2 dvd and having it reformatted to region 1, but in the meantime, I e-mailed Universal Studios Home Entertainment and requested that they consider releasing a region 1 or region 0 version of the film. Maybe if enough consumers e-mail them, they will release it here in the US. I'm not sure what the actual email you are supposed to use is; they said that they forwarded my request to the appropriate department. You can contact them from this link: http://corpinfo.universalstudios.com/faqs.asp?section=HV

Also, if the region 1 DVD isn't released - can anyone tell me if the film is worth reformatting (which is sort of expensive for someone on a student budget)? I'm a huge Sam Rockwell fan, and I see all his films opening weekend, so I've been dying to see this - any thoughts?

Cheers!

It's playing on the Sundance channel today at 3:00pm, 6:15pm and 9:15pm.I'd have to check if it will be playing other dates. They have it listed as the Robert Montgomery 1936 version, but it is actually the Sam Rockwell 2004 version playing. I have the capability of burning DVDs and can burn a copy. I assume it is a copywrited movie though and I do not want any legal problems. You can let me know by email, [email protected] or at the following contact info:

Why bother "reformatting" it when you can buy a DVD player that'll play a DVD from ANYWHERE on any TV.

Region-free.

Philips or LG or Daewoo.

These companies (& many more) make them that'll play any DVD (and even Divx files) for less than $50. And they're sold at amazon.com or Target or CompUSA or BestBuy or W*lM*rt or Sears or...

You may already have a player that'll do that. Just search Google or even www.videohelp.com for "region-free hacks" and input whatever the number is into your remote control, assuming your player is hackable.

It's perfectly legal, too.
