My problem with this game

I like this game a lot but my problem with it is that there are way to many items in this game. I mean I get hit all the time and you really can't stop most items from hitting you. Like I remember one time I got hit by a blue shell 5 times in one course. Not only that but shells come at you too much and theres not much you can do to stop it. Yeah you can shoot one back but I liked it better when you could get a shield of shells around you. This game has a lot of luck in it and doesn't require as much skill as Mario Kart 64. Besides that this game is pretty fun.

My biggest issue is hitting whomever is leading the cup makes no odds - they're instantly right behind you again.

In Super Mario Kart you could be in 2nd place say going into the last race and needing the leader to maybe finish 3rd / 4th. It was possible to tail them on the last lap and hit them with a red shell near the end, which would knock them out and you and several others would shoot past them, allowing you to win the cup.

This does not work as a tactic in double dash - they would instantly jump up behind you again. Always hated that about this game.
