Library Cop

I found it hard to take this movie seriously when the guy playing the head cop is the actor who played the Library Cop on Seinfeld.

Not to mention letting Rory Culkin (another spawn of the endless Culkin family; only rivaled by the Baldwins for fertility) run away with the plot. Is there any evidence in the real story that a cop's kid became obsessed with the case and came up with potential solutions?

So many threads were just left on the floor, rather than tied up at the ending. Of course, a solid ending is hard when the killer isn't caught. But about the cop's family? What about the clues the wife and son turn up related to astronomical phenomena? Or the guy with the matching car?

He's also the 'Elder' from the Millennium Group, which adds a whole new dimension of wierdness.
