this is a copy of an email sent by the dead by dawn festival in edinburgh:

Robert Morgan, director of the four breathtaking shorts:

THE MAN IN THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER OF THE PHOTOGRAPH / THE CAT WITH HANDS / THE SEPARATION and
MONSTERS

has, as those of you who attended Dead by Dawn 2005 know, a DVD available which contains all these films.

For anyone who doesn't know, the first is a tale of a lonely man whose attempts to find companionship culminates in a twisted display of mutated true love, the second is the story of a cat's attempts to become human - one organ at a time, the third is the astonishing story of Siamese twins ultimately joined at the soul and the last will seem upsettingly familiar to anyone who grew up at the mercy of a bitter elder sibling.

The first three are animation, the last is live action. They are such sublime examples of just how perfect the short film form can be and although they deserve to always be seen on the big screen, having daily access to them can only be good news.

The stock that Rob brought with him to the festival sold so fast that many have been left asking where they can get hold of a copy, and the answer is that you can get them here! They were a limited edition to begin with, and so at this stage it is first come, first served, but if demand is high enough, there may be a second run.

We need to hear from you by May 22nd if you would like a copy. The price will be £18 including UK postage, £20 including overseas postage. Please do not send any money until we confirm that you have responded in time to snap up one of the few remaining copies.

Oh, and remember to vote for your fave short and feature of the festival!

Cheers

Adele

Robert gave a q and a afterwards, he explained that this film was made for channel four, with an intended slot of just before/after the eveing news, so this was aimed at a PG ordience, channel4 ended up screening it in the wee hours of the morining
