Bad, Bad, Bad
Bad, bad, bad. Yuzna took every horror cliche', poured them into a blender and presented this craptastic loser. It could have been a great film. I think it wanted to be a great film. It fell far short.
The film was filled with useless scene and dialogue. I would have much rather been given a broader history of the bad guy, than the missing boy babysitting scenes.
The unbelievability of some of the scenes (a guy is ripped apart in front of the "hero" by the bad guy, using only his mental powers, and the hero jumps out and says "HEY!". Yeah, ok.) left me shaking my head. The bad guys powers are never detailed, but apparently all encompassing: posession, reanimation, eternal life, superhuman strength, control of elements and...lake slime. This guy was like the superman of Hades.
Highpoints:
-Cute girls
-Nude blonde
-Orgy
-Some gore
Lowpoints:
-Everything else
It was "Lovecraftian" in feel, but the overall suck factor made that feeling sink back into the abyss like the Dagon .
