Stimpy's Pregnant?

I heard that was one of the APC episodes, but, hello? Stimpy is MALE????

Anyway, can someone who has seen the episode tell me the whole plot?

A ridiculous and sick concept. Completely ruins the character for me. Stimpy was a great cartoon until this garbage.

reply

It's a cartoon. Who cares, I mean, just the idea and the premise alone makes it hilarious.

We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

reply

Yeah, but I've seen some images on the net and they're pretty disgusting. Stimpy the formerly cute cuddly cartoon cat with his legs in gurneys with a shaved crotch and massive female breasts. And John K. has the temerity to say that CGI Animation looks like gay porn. I usually agree with John but this just leaves me in a state of misunderstanding.

The premise is funny for about 10 seconds. Perhaps if Stimpy BELIEVED he was pregnant because he's so stupid it might be funny, but I don't need to see this.

Said this before, I still enjoy series 1 and 2 immensely. Don't see why this adult nonsense had to happen.

...omfg, I think I'm gonna be sick...

Well not at the same time. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is sick. If anyone can get John K. to explain WHY he did this I'd love to hear his explanation. This show should nevar have seen the light of day. I wonder why it got cancelled AGAIN.

I still love the old episodes though.

reply

You're definitely NOT the only one who thinks this is sick, alright!

The old episodes are great but my viewing of them is slightly tarnished by the knowledge that something I adored as a kid (and still do) has turned into something I find revolting.

If you can catch this show, don't. I hope it never aired in the UK, I've no desire to see it.

reply

These new incarnations took a few viewings for me to get used to, but I actually think they are beautiful cartoons. THe drawings are amazing and artfully irreverent! I don't think John K. should have to explain himself. Ren and Stimpy is "his" vision. Once upon a time, Nickelodeon stole the rights to those characters. Now that John has them back, he probably wants to prove a point to the execs at Nickelodeon. What better way to get back at those S.O.B.s than by turning their one time cash cows into out-of-the-closet homosexuals. Sure, some of the new content is tasteless, but JOhn K. revolutionized the booger and fart gags that are so prevelent in cartoons nowadays. With "Adult Party Cartoon" he's just showing us that he can up the anti.

True....and when anvils fall on people's heads, they usually die. How many times did we watch Wile E. Coyote fall off of a cliff and live? It must have been dozens. Crazy and unnatural things happen all the time in cartoons. That is the beauty of them.

reply

I agree, but there is a limit. This is just a little too much for me. Cartoons must be believable but not ridiculous.

reply

I'm in the "ridiculous is better" camp. To each his own. I suppose if I wanted believable I would watch The Discovery Channel.

reply

That's not what I meant when I said believable. Ren getting pectoral implants from Stimpy's bottom fat is believable, Stimpy emmiting a talking fart is silly but believable because it's a cartoon, Daffy Duck being assaulted by an offscreen animator is believable. Anthropomorphic animals are the basis of cartoons so we accept that. Turning clever witty cartoon characters such as Ren & Stimpy into gender-bening phcychopaths with a sordid sexual background is just a little too much for a cartoon which many people have grown up with as small children.

The actions of cartoon characters are capable of sustaining the situations. Simply being sick or twisted for the sake of it often overshadows the characters personalities and spoils the cartoon.

If Yogi and BooBoo has gay sex and produced a child in graphic detail before killing Ranger Smith how many fans would be just a little bit upset?

What I find strange is that John K (whom I agree is a very talented man and I enjoy his woek and agree with most of his views) once described CGI animation as looking like 'gay porn'. And then he produces stuff like this? Pot, kettle and black spring to mind. I just don't understand why such a funny man has to cram so much sexual and disturbing imagery into his work and assume this is what makes a cartoon 'cartoony'.

I like my animation silly, funny, well-drawn and absurd or any combination of the above so please don't assume I am some bible-bashing, hyper-realist freak, because that's another of my dislikes.

PHEW! Anyway, I hope I've made my point, I'm off to watch some more of season 1 and 2 and maybe some Looney Tunes!

So... who does Stimpy have sex with in order to become pregnant?? Is it Ren???

reply

yes

reply

Kinda thought so, Ren and Stimpy are gay but I didn't know they could breed!

For every hetero couple that can't concieve there should be one gay couple that can. That seems fair to me.

reply

John Kricfalusi is maybe a bit TOO focused on homosexuality. Hey, i'm not aying the man is gay or anything. But the gay jokes tire very fast, and they just keep on coming.

reply

John K. can make his characters gay alright, but Stimpy, a male cat, getting pregnant and having children is a little too much.

-Ryan-

reply

...and what makes Stimpy's pregnancy even more wrong is that he is having sex with a male chihuahua in order to have children.

He only thinks he is pregnant in that cartoon. He's really constipated if I heard correctly.

reply

That's pretty g.d. funny.

reply

Weird. More acceptable but weird. Not as funny as Soon of Stimpy however, THAT was a great episode.

reply

True. So in the whole episode, he is just constipated and he doesn't have any children?

-Ryan-

reply

Or does he have a living turd int hte same manner as Son of Stimpy. I love that episode. So touching, so funny and so PASSIONATE!

reply

I love that episode too.

The first part was brilliant. The second part was HORRIBLE. One funny joke among a series of super childish so-called "jokes". Yeah...poo is so funny. Hey, let's say poo over and over again, since it's so funny. Stay away from part 2.

reply

It just seems a little sad that females have no place in John K's work other than to have babies and look sexual (the Spumco 'babes'). So difficult is it for them to come up with believable female characters that they can be portrayed by male 'actors'. And nothing will ever make me bleieve that abusing someone pregnant and threatening them with an abortion is a fit topic for humour.

Reporter: It's a rumor in Europe that Kurt, from Nirvana is dead.
Kurt Cobain: Yup. (laughter) Again. Dead, pregnant, on heroin. I'm a Hermaphrodite as well.
