Tea Leoni is a horrible actress

tea leone is just a horrible actress. she cannot act for anyone's sake. no wonder i recently read that review that she seems so wooden. it wouldnt hurt her if she added a little emotion to her acting, would make it seem more authentic. but then again, she's a bad actress in the first place. i still remember her stupid role in jurassic park 3, she just can't act and only people with serious lack of knowledge about acting would say "ooohh she's a great actor" - which she simply isn't.

OK, so IF people with a serious lack of knowledge about acting...which probably includes the majority, think shes a great actor, then I guess that's the audience she is out there to please. So she's pleasing the majority and only the minority...those who know lots about acting...think she's a bad actor. Is that what you are saying?

Incidentally, I don't particularly like Tea in her movies, but I recognize that is a subjective preference and not an objective statement. I do think she did a pretty good job in Deep Impact.

reply

I don't think she's horrible, she was just really annoying in this film.

you people do realize that even the best actress in the world couldn't have portrayed the character of Deborah in a good light. In my mind, there is no actress alive (or dead for that matter) who could have looked like a good actress in this movie (or in JP3). I would recommend you watch "House of D." A so-so film, with an interesting storyline, and not terrible acting. You can't judge an actor by their performance in a crap film. It would be like saying Robin Williams is a bad actor if you had only seen RV and Bicentennial Man. The guy went to Julliard for cripes sake.

I so much disagree. I thought she was EXCELLENT! This is the only movie in which I've seen her. She made me hate her so much that I don't WANT to see another movie with her, LOL. She was a bigger b*tch in this movie than Mary Tyler Moore was in "Ordinary People."

I think she is a wonderful actress. She seems like a kind and wonderful person as well. She is aging gracefully, unlike most in Hollywood, and I would like to see her in more films or her own show on HBO or Showtime.

The only reason to log on to any website to put someone else down is envy & jealously. Stay jealous ralph_knight2002, clearly all you have is anger and a keyboard.

I will have to respectfully disagree with you on this. Annoying her character may have been, and downright crazy she was, neurotic is the proper term to describe her, she's impeccable in this role. She really portrays a woman with some serious mental issues, and in need of therapy. I think she played this role to a tee. I can see where you're coming from, but I think it's because you may lack the ability to spot a character actor. I'm not saying she is over the span of her career, but she is meticulous in portraying someone suffering from psychoneurosis or again, neurotic disorder in this movie. She's believable to me throughout.

I majorly disagree, I think this was her best performance. In fact, I think every actor in this movie (including Sandler) was fantastic. The alcoholic mother was exceptional, including Flor and the two daughters.

Great acting, great, mature movie

jrtomasso nailed it. This was her finest movie and she executed an unlikable character to volcanic perfection.

"it wouldnt hurt her if she added a little emotion to her acting"

Her character in this film has serious problems with emotion...namely expressing them in any sane manner.

She played this character perfectly. She was fun to hate.

reply

Yeah she was awful, she just grates on you.

And the worse part was when she was having sex with Sandler lol, some of her face expressions were comical in a bad way.

Truly awful performance in a not a bad movie.

reply

Sorry, but that's the director's fault.

reply

Still doesn't disguise the fact it's a sh!t performance,and she's a crap actress.

reply

I agree. She's grating on me in whichever role she plays.

If she wants any lasting career, she needs to soften up. She's too much of a hard- ass I. Every role she plays. Never the vulnerable ingenue ( yeah, I know, she's too old to be an ingenue). She has ONE mode and that's panic/neurotic.

She needs to start showing vulnerability soon, or else she's going to fall by the way side.

I do admit I'm jealous that she's married to DD ( which can't be easy what with his sex addictions and all), but I keep that separated. I used to watch her on a show called "The Naked Truth" and boy was she horrible in it. It seemed as though they wanted a skinny girl who would at least spout out lines, no matter how horribly they came out.

She should never have become a "star".

I do no harm, I keep to myself; there's nothing wrong with my state of mental health.

I don't think she's a bad actress. I think she just has a bad voice for acting. It's like it doesn't give her the right range. She always sounds like she's in the same "mode". It'd be like Fran Drescher trying to do drama.

Amy: I swear to God...I swear to God! That is NOT how you treat your human!
