I just saw it and met Dom!

I just met him!!! I just hugged him, got his autograph and a picture with him!!! I saw Shooting Livien at the SXSW film festival! Wow...my hands are shaking right now lol.

I couldn't get a digital camera, so a disposable one had to do. Oh well, I was pushing people out of the way like a rabid paparazzi to get to him!! And there were these on-the-verge-of-backstreet-boy-concert-tears teenyboppers next to me, whispering his name, of course he didn't hear them. So I shouted "HEY DOM!!" and he came over. I think I'm their hero now.

During the Q&A session after the screening, they answered mine!! I asked what their fave parts of filming were, and Dom said making the friends he did while shooting and eating sushi at 3 a.m. I was laughing so hard!!

Finally, I pushed my way through the crowd to get to Dom. I got him to come over, sign my carboard thing (since I didn't have a picture of him..oops.), and then I almost kind of jumped in his arms to take a picture lol..I just sat up on the railing, put my arms around him and handed my camera to some lady. Dom laughed. We took a really nice picture together. Then I thanked him, told him I loved Lost and watched religiously it every week, hugged one more time, and went on my way.

Elijah Wood was there, too. He and Dom hugged each other when he first arrived, it was really sweet. Lij tripped on my foot when he was getting up to leave!! Poor thing. He was there with some girl. Anyway, that was my AWESOME experience for tonight.

The movie itself was amazing, insightful, and sometimes to the point of disturbing. Even through all that, they managed to put a little hint of humor here and there. I definetely reccomend this movie to any Dom or John Lennon fan.

I've got a golden ticket...

I was sitting very near you and remember your question.

Dominick's performance was great. So was Jason Behr's and Josh Leonard's. I loved the subject matter and theme of the film but think Rebecca Cook missed the mark a bit with her writing and direction (maybe the 15-20 who walked out agree?). (EDIT: I think Cook is inspired and inspiring as a filmmaker, and a delightful, engaging pro who just didn't get it done in editing and paring down the screenplay) Sarah Wynter's performance was way below par next to these guys (yikes). Behr is beautiful, a magnet.

The film had some electrifying moments, and the theme is close to my heart. Over all a responsible, honest exploration of mental illness, drug addiction and unindividuation of a coronated, sexualized son of a mentally ill woman and distant dad (a painfully miscast and disconnected character).

Dominick's alternating light and somber touches were just right. A delight in every scene. I'm impressed and he's made me a devoted fan.

As for the film itself, it needs to be cut about six minutes. And I'd like to feel something for Wynter's and Sheedy's characters. But, I don't.

Good looking group of talented guys in this. I'll be watching.

(Loved the movie, it touched my heart, and on the subject of Owen, I'd have like him to have been explored a little, but I guess if Cook wasn't interested in him, then fair dos.*****)

Dom = Shiny
Would fangirlism be as appealing if it were healthy?
