Why was the guy so aggressive to Niel?

During the rape scene, the guy borderline nasty to Neil and was almost in rage. Why was he so angry and rough with him? Did he enjoy that kind of thing or was he angry at something else and basically taking his sexual anger out on him? I just do not understand why he acted that way.
