25 minutes? Are you kidding me?

I rented this today and watched it. I have to admit I enjoyed it but the film explained nothing about why the aliens and humans are at war, they didn't explain that conversation that Mikako had with an alien or anything else!

Why would you make a movie that ends in 25 minutes when there is obviously so much more to explain and feature?

Actually, that does help... where can I find this manga?

I too feel it could have been a bit longer, but not because I wanted to know more about the war. I would have liked more time to get to know the two main characters.

It was most likely only 25 minutes long because Makoto wrote, directed, produced and acted in it himself. He didn't have a budget that would allow for much more. I think the film is an amazing achievement under those circumstances.

The war was not the plot of the story but rather background. The real focus was the separation between the main characters. I didn't even care about the war or its outcome.

I just wanted to see how the characters react to being separated further and further apart by time.
