How this movie should have been done

#1: more fight scenes between Alien and Predator
#2: consult Ridley Scott (or perhaps he was consulted--if so ouch)
#3: I think it would please fans to see Arnold and Sigourney in the same movie for two of their most famous roles. Bring in the characters of Dutch and Ellen Ripley
#4: rewrites, a lot of rewrites

reply

It should have taken place in the future, far far away. Not set on earth.

#2: consult Ridley Scott (or perhaps he was consulted--if so ouch)

I don't think he was; pretty much all the big names attached to an Alien movie at some point, disliked the crossover idea.

reply

You mean like "Predators"?

reply

No it shouldn't have. The pyramid on Earth was a good idea. All the other Alien movies are futuristic, so why do it yet again?

reply

The birthing was way too fast.

A mistake is messing with the life-cycle of the Alien creature the way we know it from Alien and Aliens and Aline3. It is perfect as it stands, and the real reason we are all drawn to it...

Resurrection completely messed this one up, and not to mention the abomination of AvP Requiem. Do not mess with the Alien. Create a story around IT, not change IT to satisfy the story.

The Alien is not the star in this movie. You see how the other movies you named have only Alien in the title? That's because it's the star of those movies, whereas here, there is another star in this movie.

Hal-9010 would get a lot more screen time in a movie called Hal-9010 than he would in a movie called Hal-9010 and the Chipmunks.

I agree. Not sure why you think that I might not?

I was actually expecting the Predator to be the dominating player in this flick. I got no problem with that. Believe it or not, I like "AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004)".

However, I am no fan of messing with the Alien creature and how it works. Cause it is really the perfect "monster" the way it is represented in Alien I, II and III.

This one did change little and so one reason why I actually like it (and why I dislike Resurrection and Requiem). The little change they did though was how fast the birthing-through-the-chest-thing happened, and this was a shame IMO. It was a wonderful horrible thing how long it took in the first ones and I think they should have kept this element in this story as well.

The essential message of my post that you reply to above is; do not change or update the Alien creature on how it looks and works, and we are in the right direction :). If one or the other should dominate the screen time, it is entirely depending on what works for the story being told and is a discussion for another time.

How this movie should've been done? It shouldn't have been done!

If the characters were more interesting and the violence was upped, the movie would be pretty decent.
