I agree. Not sure why you think that I might not?
I was actually expecting the Predator to be the dominating player in this flick. I got no problem with that. Believe it or not, I like "AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004)".
However, I am no fan of messing with the Alien creature and how it works. Cause it is really the perfect "monster" the way it is represented in Alien I, II and III.
This one did change little and so one reason why I actually like it (and why I dislike Resurrection and Requiem). The little change they did though was how fast the birthing-through-the-chest-thing happened, and this was a shame IMO. It was a wonderful horrible thing how long it took in the first ones and I think they should have kept this element in this story as well.
The essential message of my post that you reply to above is; do not change or update the Alien creature on how it looks and works, and we are in the right direction :). If one or the other should dominate the screen time, it is entirely depending on what works for the story being told and is a discussion for another time.
