I have to admit, I'm shocked and horrified at the 7.5 score. I can't see how anybody who'd know about it would hate it so much. Personally I think the ending is one of the greatest in cinematic history, and the whole thing deserves a 8.5/9 at the very least.

it deserves a 10

Toshiaki Toyoda is probably my favorite director. His works are flawless. '9 Souls' is a great example of what cinema can do.

You are 100% correct. I watched Blue Spring and looked for other movies Toyoda directed, and had no idea I would find a movie I liked better than that. anyone who rated this a two or three has some issues.

I agree, insane film. An amazing one two punch with blue spring.

I really enjoyed it, if a movie can mix humour and serious drama then i'm in.

The part where Koji Chihara hits a home run and you see him running for the ball only to realise that he's staggering from being stabbed was excellent.

the only flaw for me was the amount of characters made it hard to keep track the first time and subs didn't halp since I was trying to focus on two things at once but still at least an 8.5, higher the second time, a 9 maybe.

Yeah I found I had to watch it a few times to get it - First saw it from TV - subbed (taped it and watched it many more times) But the Seriously Rented it whilst being in Japan = no Subs - But I got so much more from the movie then I did when I was relying on the sub (I'm studying Japanese :P)

Awesome Movie, really well constructed - I'd say the people who rated it low have A few issues - 1st they probably only watched it once, 2nd - They probably dont know the Japanese culture very well. Since Coming to Japan I also got a more thorough understanding of why some of the stuff is done as it was ...

Very Good Movie.
