*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Hey, so a friend and I have been having a debate about this movie. You know the part where Itsuji Itao's character Kamei (or Turtle) goes back to propose to his barber shop girlfriend, and then the cops nab him? Well, I thought it seemed pretty clear that she had been pining away for him and that the cops just happened to catch him at that moment, but my friend is insistent for some reason that the girlfriend set him up somehow. Can anybody else shed some light on this? Am I just missing something big? Anyway, great movie.

no I think you are right. it was just an unfortunate coincidence that the police showed up just when he wanted to propose to her. or, more likely, they were surveying the place, hoping he'd show up.

i think the cops came to talk to her about him breaking out of prison,because she is aware that he is on the run (hence the flower cutting "he'll come,he won't).So the cops probably came to talk to her and see if she had seen him...it was just a coincidence that he came to see her at that time.

I intepreted it as The clients who had been getting a hair cut before saw him and dopped him into the cops - if you notice its not the cops who tackle him its two random strangers ... but thats just my thoughts

They are cops since they got handcuffs. I agree with the coincidence theory. But I think that she didn't forgive him since she saw the cops coming and didn't warn him.

but what could he possibly do even if she had warned him, it was only the matter of seconds.
