why characters not in prison

Two characters in season 5 have killed someone and were not in prison a couple episodes later...Did they just not care enough to make the story make sense or am I watching Hulu on shuffle?

Or it could be the episodes weren't shown in order. Like on Bob's Burger in one episode Gayle and Mr Frond are dating, a few later they haven't met yet, then in another they just started dating.

Droid please.

Doesn't really matter if you watch the season strictly in order. This is an unrealistic sheriff's department where the deputies regularly appeared in TV commercials about personal safety devices, illegal immigration, and a recruitment ad where they showcased their low standards, there's no sheriff or anyone above the rank of lieutenant leading them, the defacto leader always wears very short shorts, several deputies often partake in illicit substances, Trudy remains employed despite glaring psychological issues, Clementine seemed to have rap sheet, Rizzo was hired despite his long history & lack of recommendations, and when things go awry they usually run away.

I don't know what specific incidents of deputies killing people in season 5 other than possibly killing someone for Mayor Hernandez. In season 6 Dangle put a "shoot to kill order" out on an undercover cop posing as a motorcycle gang member to cover up Dangle forgetting about him and neglecting to collect recorded evidence for 10 years, while Rizzo did something to make a soccer coach disappear. But yeah, they've been involved in a lot of incidents that they would have to answer for. A bus blowing up with the driver still in it, multiple people being pushed or jumping off a bridge, running around town naked, etc. That's just the stuff involving witness. They also took peyote, covered up for Mayor Hernandez's transgressions, were prepared to cut up & dispose of a dead hooker for him, failed to realize that Rick was the murderer he was helping them investigate, effectively gave a jet ski to a guy right before he (presumably) died on it, and were present when a civilian killed himself.

Lol All good points.

I don't remember which season it was but Jones and Garcia (might be remembering characters wrong) are chasing a guy in some food costume and beating him and he gets hit by a truck. I'm not sure if that's what the original poster was referring to though.

That was the milkshake man in season 2 where Jones & Garcia chased & beat him but were then on a good terms with him right before he got hit. Bystander footage only showed the beating and the guy getting hit by a truck, which led to the department being investigated and the deputies jailed.

You're asking detailed questions about the wrong show.
