the whole movie was out of focus.

That's because it was shot on digital video. It makes it easier to change colors, tints, inserted backgrounds, etc.

Um. What on earth are you on about? Acureforgravity is right. The movie has a soft focus, and it is because of the digital work.

I don't think it was an issue of pulling focus, but rather grading. I noticed it right away whenever they cut to a close-up of Milla. Everyone else looks normal, but Milla has this "airbrushed" (or digital equivalent of) look.

No, he's correct.

Focus has NOTHING to do with digital or analog. You control focus with the lenses, or MODIFY it in post-processing, but it's NOT intrinsic to what medium you recorded the images on.

Thanks for backing me up. It's disturbing that 4 people thought shooting on digital video made footage have unclear focus. Bizarre.
