This is fakest looking movie I've ever seen.

I don't know, maybe they tried to hide the low special effects budget by filtering the hell out of every scene of the movie, but it does make it look like everything in it is made out of plastic.

reply

it was made to look that way believe it or not haha

personally i think they must have had a crappy effecs team though, i know the budget was only 35 million but it should of looked better even with the cgi motobike up the building

reply

It was made that way to resemble a comic book/graphic novel.

reply

Really? It was all blurry and gauzy to look like a comic book? I can see maybe saturated colors and blacker blacks, but the fuzziness?

....Maybe you had a bad copy of the movie or something, but I only remember there being some vague watercolour-y effects in some backgrounds. The colours in the movie are incredibly over saturated, like a comic book, and the blacks are all deeper with a sheen, like a comic book.

reply

No, it's been noted in other threads that her face is very blurred in parts.

I agree this is one of the fakest movies I've ever seen, but I still think that the prize goes to A Sound of Thunder (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318081/).
Man, that movie looks like a bad cut scene from a PS one game!

reply

ASOT is great! That one scene where the lead and his female friend are walking down the street and are clearly walking in place in front of greenscreen BLEW my mind and still does. That movie actually happened, in modern times!

I'm watching this right now on Sony Movie Channel..I can't see a single pore or wrinkle in anyone's face.I'd really like to see real high definition without all the filtering once in awhile.

reply

I could never tell if it was supposed to look surreal or just came out bad

reply

I understand if they went for a comic book stylized look, but it doesn't come across like that, it looks like half rendered digital effects rather then stylized.

I'd put my money on the latter. I can't believe they claim to have spent $30 million on this hybrid cartoon.

reply

It looks like an "extra special" episode of the Power Rangers.

reply

it looked like a playstation 1 game from 1997. That's how poor the cgi was.

I am Tigro, bow down to my greatness.

Watch the trailer here for a facepalming moment: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0272425/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Doing that to prime Milla Jovovich is inexcusable and should be a crime.
