Am I going insane, or was the set they used for the town the exact same one as Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls?

Yes. The downtown Hamden scenes were shot on Warner Bros' Midwestern Town set - the same as Stars Hollow.

Yes! I thought the same thing. I watched this movie for the first time last night, and I'm sure it was the same set as Stars Hollow - Gilmore Girls. I thought the scene where she was splashed with the water was outside of Luke's Diner, and the various town square scenes confirmed it for me.
