Lawson's story to Pursy - question

I couldn't hear clearly, and my dvd has no subtitles. In the story of the Little League game, was Bobby's young son killed by a car? It wasn't Lawson driving who hit the kid was it? Or was he even killed, was it simply the neglect of leaving him alone in the dark that made Bobby's wife kick him out?

Good point...I listened to it three times and still don't know what actually happened.

Were you listening to the Coob's story?

Bobby got drunk and didn't come pick up the kid when he was supposed to, and the kid wandered out in traffic and got killed.

This was another in a long line of Bobby's irresponsible screwups so his wife said 'that's it -- the hell with him.'

Probably also has a lot to do with why Bobby's other kids (as mentioned several times) will have nothing to do with him -- they blame him for the death of their brother.
