Good chance she died of her injuries.

she could be back, who knows...

What an unnecessarily vicious way to kill off a harmless character we would have all forgotten about otherwise. I was a bit weirded out by how much time they spent on her death, honestly- even the bad guy gets less screentime.

Zara's death was wrong. I stopped watching the movie which I had been enjoying up till then. It should have been Bryce Dallas Howard or the older nephew who deserved to get eaten like that, they were the bad ones who caused the problems, not Zara who was innocent, her death was just the usual Spielberg sadism, he is a revolting human being.

Pretty sure Spielberg wasn’t involved in this one

Are you talking about the nanny who got slurped by the mozosaur?

reply

Katie McGrath? yes i would make sweet, sweet love to her.

Zara's death was perfect. She was a great character, though we really don't know anything about her, nor does she have a proper arch, but the way she dies is perfect.

It's perfect in the sense that much of the audience is mad about Zara didn't deserve such a death; which is tragic, unannounced, and shocking.

Death happens, and at times death arrives when we least expect it.

I think her death was drawn out just to make a death sort of a horror highlight spectacle, and because yes she's the first woman to die on-screen in the series.

However. I think people saying she's the "bitch trope" or whatever is wrong and unfair. She's a professional who accepts the task of watching the nephews as part of her duties, but I'm sure it's not something she ever really anticipated when she took the job, but she rolls with it. She's also focused on planning her wedding. And she's not extremely warm or maternal. To boys she barely knows, and it's not her way, maybe because she's British. None of this makes her a bitch. She's clearly invested in keeping the boys alive. She cares enough to run around looking for them to get them to safety, ultimately costing her her life.

So I don't think she's a bitch. Ultimately I think it says more about us as a society that we look at a woman with those qualities and assign her the bitch title.

Let's also note that she was never meant to be overly fleshed out to begin with, she's not the lead.

Just watched the movie for the first time last night. First, I was glad to see Katie McGrath. I LOVE her in the Hallmark movie "A Princess for Christmas" so I always get excited when I recognize someone. 2nd, I didn't see her as a bitch but I did see her as a spitting image of Claire. All work, on the phone, unfeeling towards the kids. I feel like her death...her unceremoniously drawn out death is what SHOULD have happened to Clair....but because she was the lead/love interest/prodigal son of the story, they didn't want to kill her off so put that punishment onto the assistant.

Good actress.
Horribly written story for her character.

One of the many reasons why I hated JW and think the movie is completely overrrrrrated.
