INDICTED

When Dick finds out he got indicted is the funniest scene in the movie to me. Every time I see that part I laugh uncontrollably! It's hilarious! The way he keeps screaming "INDICTED" is too funny! Does anyone else find this to be the funniest scene in the movie?

Either they don't know, don't show, or don't care about what's going on in the hood.

This movie is full of great funny scenes, and "indicted" was certainly one of them.

But, what I want to know is, why didn't he actually get arrested? They knew where he lived (he hadn't moved). He first heard he was going to be indicted while watching a bunch of other Globodyne people getting arrested on the news ("Mark Fish!")

Did I miss something, or did they never bother to show up at his door, and if not, why not?

Like a good comedy should, this one has two readings.

On the first level, this scene gets stuck in our memory as a funny scene, and the majority of posters here prove that.

Your question brings us to the other level of the script... Did you notice that all the people being arrested in a number of police raids were victims like Dick and Jane, after they had committed minor crimes or misdemeanors? Meanwhile, the big bad wolf kept smoking cigars and talking nonchalantly to the reporters. Dick and Jane were not being arrested by the actual petty thefts they had done.

Dick Harris was being "indicted" by the media, citing vaguely a Prosecutor's office that should be inaccessible to the press - as a scapegoat for the bankruptcy of the company in which he had been Public Relations vice-president for a day, chosen for not being so bright.

At this level, the film writers are forcing us to reflect on Justice and Freedom of Information in the early 21st century.

LOL ya that was hilarious, i love the part when they're robbing that guy and they have the voice changers and they put the shock collar on him.

looks like dick has a new pet word!

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

I just got done with second viewing overall but my first viewing in four years. That scene was one of the primary scenes that stuck with me because I was so hilarious, especially the way Jim was saying it.

All I need is one mic...

One scene that I laughed really hard at was when he had to fight that guy for his ficus, and then all the leaves blew off of it from the helicopter. classic!
