Globedyne like Goldman Sachs in Real Life?

Is it just me or the fictional Globedyne company's unfortunate fate resembles that of today's news of Goldman Sachs' money laundering which perhaps caused the beginning of the global recession of 2008. So is Goldman Sachs the real-life Globedyne , or does the 1977 screenplay writers predicted something like this in the future of finance?

Actually what happens in the movie is closer to what happened with Enron.

Doc80 is right, it's spoofing more what happened with the implosion of Enron-- although considering the recent economic collapse, I have a feeling a lot more people can relate to this movie NOW, than when it was released.

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

You are both right that the spoofing is of Enron but when you watch the movie, at the end are some great credits mentioning other firms and CEOs who engaged in the same kind of rip-offs of their employees and the public.

It's a combination of what happened with Enron, Tyco, WorldCom, etc.

Shoot him again! His soul's still dancing...

Goldman Sachs is a reputable venerable investment bank, and despite what "occupy wall street" screams a highly respected firm on the street, this is based on/spoofs Enron.
