'Well, there's always p rostitution...'

I don't know if it's being censored (pathetic 12 year old policy) or not, but obviously i'm talking about the scene where Carrey's character and his wife are sitting in the dark in the garden.. desperate, then Jim jokingly says "Well, there's always prostitution...". Followed by "...For me, of course".

What was the point they kept that line in the actual film? Don't get me wrong, i'm not a feminist or anything (Commando is one of my favorite movies), but i just thought that remark was plain-unfunny. Am i the only one who thought that wasn't really funny? I thought this was one of Carrey's better recent movies, but i'm baffled that no one of the hundreds of people making the movie cut that scene.

It reminded me when I lost my beloved job because of political reasons (here in Venezuela) in 2002, and I sarcastically said something similar to my wife, and she replied "So I'll have to charge for it from now on?"... I should have lent that line to the writers, it was funny, in the middle of that desperate situation.

Isn't there another film with a similar situation/line? i think it is a comedy

He had just half-jokingly and half-seriously suggested this his wife sell her nana to help makes end meet. Immediately realized what a schithead suggestion that was and also the possible ramifications of said suggestion and realized that he had to clean it up.
