I really enjoye it for a xmas flick and i was unaware, no one else did. the only thing, ONLY thing, i thought was kinda lame, was the location in california, thus no snow, and its not a big deal. I just dig xmas flicks when theres snow. But this movie was really enjoyable and left with a good feeling. Dont be a dick when replying. Thnx.

I LOVED this movie. I laughed from the beginning to the end. I actually saw it twice yesterday. This was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.
THe only scene that got my blood to boil was when the neice stole the pregnancy test...Ooooweeee I wanted to KICK.HER.ASS!!!!
ok, I loved it. thought it was hilarious. I just saw it though and it's two years old. I was looking for christmas movies and that's why I checked it out. the reason I didn't before was I though it was a romantic-comedy-chic-flik type of film and I hate those. you could argue there is romance here but it was a full on comedy and very funny. I think it was marketed badly and people probably did not realize exactly what type of movie it was and therefore didn't find a broad audience.

I read the reviews and heard peoples coments and went in the first week expecting it to be so-so but I loved it too. I don't understand why it didn't get better attention.
My guess: 1. Bad publicity from Vince Vaughn refusing to promote it (apparently he didn't get along with Reese Witherspoon--of course you really can't tell in the film)
2. Maybe people are gettign further and further from Christmas and are just not interested in it like they would have a couple of decades ago. That would be sad if its true and ironically play into the theme of the film.

I really liked it too! I thought it was funny! It's not one of my TOP Christmas movies, but I am proud to add it to the Christmas collection! My advice is if you like a movie, just enjoy it, because everybody else's opinion doesn't matter in the least!
shareI thought it was pretty funny and that is all that matters to me. I don't care at all what others say about it. Just like I don't question why they dislike it or try to explain why I liked it. I understand that not every person has the same tastes in movies or the same sense of humor for the comedies.
shareBecause people have different tastes and like different things. I only watched 15 minutes - life's too short to sit through something you're not enjoying. Vince Vaughn's smug improvisation (the secret to good improve is that we not know you're improvising - otherwise it's just self-indulgence)grated on me sooo much. The cutesie "packing the suitcase" whilst bouncing around and being a deliriously happy couple was the final straw for me - off it went. I'm prepared to accept that it may have become better than Some Like It Hot after that, but I didn't wait around to find out.

One other thing that also might be an issue, is how expensive the movie is. When a Christmas movie is as expensive as this one, they don't expect to only get a Hallmark level movie.
Some one like Hallmark could actually had made this movie as well, but with a budget that is severely smaller.
I like it a lot. My only complaint, if I had to be picky, would be that I think the "first Christmas," the scene at Brad/Orlando's dad's house, is funnier, and more consistently funny, than the rest of the film.
