This is the film's message?

According to star/producer Vince Vaughn, the film's message is that the point of Christmas is to get together with all the members of one's family, be they good, bad or ugly, to be thankful of their love, and of course to have fun.

I guess we got the version where they cut out all that love and fun. All I see is nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag biiiiiitch biiiiiitch biiiiitch. There's a family to declare dead to you.

Yeah, didn't really make families look fun at all.

Yeah, but it confronted the elephant in many Christmas lounge-rooms, where some family members have just grown way, way, way apart from other members and are then expected to play happy families with them over the holiday period. I agree that at times it

... didn't really make families look fun at all.
But I did find it pretty funny with plenty of memorable characters and ultimately it concludes that the experience is fairly (not completely)worthwhile.🐭

If my family was like those, I'd grow far apart from them too. Hehe

I'd tell everybody they were dead and never visit them.

Gotta agree on that one.

its about starting a family, couples being real with one another. they were fooling themselves into thinking they were happy. it took being exposed by people who really knew them--not each other--to understand one another, where they came from, and where their relationship needed to go.

The message I got from the movie was, stay away from Vince Vaughn's family.

It's that man again!!
