Sorta Shocked at the Rating

I am a big fan of the zombie genre and thought this was quite good. Why didn't people like it? Not enough BS social commentary? I will admit that the final song is...interesting.

lol The closing track was indeed......um......somewhat arresting

It reminded me somewhat of the good old days of balls out - 'couldn't care less if we can't play our instruments plus our lyrics are sh!te and we'll insert any old line that rhymes' - 80's stock heavy metal.

Aye....it was admittedly crap (and sounded as though it was recorded in a toilet in fact).....but fun

Hmmm, obviously you haven't listened to much (or any) 80's metal. Reality is exactly the opposite of what you said, specifically those players could play they instruments 20 times better than any band from the 90's or 2000's. Yes the lyrics were mostly sh!te, except for Iron Maiden and Queensrhyche. But with such strong vocal melodies, ultimately the bad lyrics didn't even matter most of the time.

On the contrary good sir - I was a huge fan of 80's HM having grown up with it.
Perhaps I should elucidate on my previous post; Certainly I concur entirely that generally speaking, there was far more emphasis on technical ability i.e instrument wise, in the 80's than the vast, vast majority of crap we are subjected to these days. This was after all the era that gave us such guitar gods as Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani for instance. Who do we have now? Answers on a postcard please.
However......forget not that for every virtuoso band back in the day we also had to equilibrate them with the likes of Nuclear Assault, Venom etc. Of course, that's not to insult the latter two - quite the opposite, they were actually amongst my personal favourites of the era; merely I am referring to their technical baseness by comparrison.
Master musicians they were not, but fun........Christ on a bike yes! - and the final track on the film being discussed evoked happy memories of such bands for me who despite perhaps not being the most gifted song writers or else talented musicians in the world (to put it mildly) nonetheless gave it their all and succeeded via pure infectious energy and fun.

I'm not sure why more folks don't dig it either.

I suppose it's because of the lack of headshots and explosions, etc..

It seems many people just dig livingd dead action flicks.

Cheers...

I agree. I think Dead Meat falls into the "so bad it's good" category, not unlike Bad Taste.
