I Have an Idea!!!

You know that this was a very frustrating movie. It was fun, full of action and stuff, but I think it lacked a major element I can't put my fingers on. It's like, well, grasping what you liked about the Toa in the first place. You can't find it here. It is almost empty of all your love for it, though I think Takua was the best ever in this movie. But, on to the subject! I am a big fan, actually, a little old for it, as some of my fellow family members might say. I have a thought that this could be made into a real, live action movie. It may be a crappy idea, but I like it. You do lose all the Lego fun of it, but I think of the Toa as people, not just plastic action figures. So I'm thinking that there would be six people around the globe that change, as my theory on it is that Mata-nui is under us (in theory, not in fact), and that the symbols of the Toa are buried on different places around the globe, and that they call to their chosen person, and slowly, the chosen 'victims' (I call it that, but I don't think it's true) become the Toa, in character and power. So we might lose the awesome gadgets, but I think, if my script ends up right, and if it sells, it'd be an emotional and awesome movie.

Here's my cast(note, this is my story, so it won't be what Lego wrote. The Toa already were in Mata-nui, but Mata-nui was buried under a thousand disasters that the Toa could not stop. And now we live on top of where Mata-nui was, and the symbols of the Toa is all that remains of the Toa themselves. The smbols bear their personality and abilities, not their bodies. Now, the real people, above, just like us, six of them are chosen by these six body-less entities, therefore, making heroes to unearth the secrets buried in ice and molten rock. This idea is in the real world, and will be unanimated. It's just an idea):

Tahu: A Native American actor(I have no idea who. Do you guys know?)
Kopaka: Gerard Butler
Onua: Someone special, someone heartwarming.
Gali: Cate Blanchett
Pohatu: Hugh Jackman or David Duchonvy (the X-files guy)
Lewa: Orlando Bloom or Hugh Dancy (from Ella Enchanted)

If you haven't heard of some of these people, look for their names here. I think they're spelled correctly.

What do you think? As I said, it's a crazy idea. If you want more of the plot I'm juicing up, ask.

Isn't that the plot for Power Rangers: Bionicle? Anyway no just no. It's like saying Star Wars or LOTR took place underneath Earth and they guys come up and do stuff here. That's just not right. Sorry to burst your bubble but that idea is just wrong. I mean sure outside the continuity...maybe the stories can come to life from the movies or novels or comis...wait wasn't that Big Bad Beetle Borgs? You're turning Bionicle into an early 90's Power Ranger Clone!!! Meh...it depends on the story, I mean it needs a point doesn't it? What is the point? Who's the antagonist, how are these people connected? What?

reply

Okay this is the opposite, actually. The Toa come from up here and go down. Yes...the point is crucial, and still working on it. Any ideas would be cool. No, power rangers are out of the question, though i see what you mean.

Lets say the whole bionicle plot took place centuries(or longer) ago. The matoran rediscovered their Metru Nui technology, and began making more machines. I say all the nui islands would still be in existence, and be near easter island or in the bermuda triangle or something. Present day, and some plane/boat/satellite sees/finds one of the islands and the matoran.
I haven't really thought it out, but it's a start.

I apologize in advance for my losey spelling.
Anyway, I was reading this post while watching the original Bionicle movie with the creator's commentary on.

You were very close to one of their ideas. Terry Molina said that he thought of Lewa as "a cross between a hippie and an American Indian".
So yeah, one of the Toa is supposed to represent my people.
An extra treat for me because Lewa is my favorite.
Though I'm not against the idea of Orlando Bloom doing Lewa. ^_^

I loved Trevor Deval's portrail of Pohatu but your ideas are good choices too.

I liked Scott McNeil as Tahu but they should've hired someone else to do Onua. It was too easy to figure out that he was doing both characters.
Normally Mr.McNeil is really good at making each character distint when he does multiple characters, like in Beastwars.
Ratrap, Dinobot, Silverbolt and Quickstrike were all very original. Maybe he's finally running out of new voices.

I can't remember his name at the moment; but that tall, huge colored man from Green Mile would be great as Onua! I think he's very special (and attractive but that's beside the point) and every movie he's been in has made me cry. Like Armageddon and Brother Bear.

I adored Kopaka's voice. Too bad he didn't get to talk much. The gentleman you suggested, Gerard Butler, that name sounds familiar. Could you name some of the shows or movies he's been in? That might help my pathetic memory. ^_^;

Good luck with this.
