....NO ONE uses this board????

I thought more people would be using this board. Doesn't anyone like this show?

Do you not know death when you see it?

That’s because nobody in the USA, beyond those who seen it on DVD, knows about it. Now if it appeared on Adult Swim like Fullmetal Alchemist, Outlaw Star, Case Closed, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Yu Yu Hakusho, Blue Gender and Wolf's Rain then this board will be drowned with commentary. And not necessarily happy commentary, either.

It just struck me as odd...but you're right. If it was on tv, this board would definately be more active.

I expected more people too.

"This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off."

reply

Yeah...

Other shows that don't air on a big tv network get more people than this, so it's strange to me. Especially since I found out about this show from an episode that was included on a Fullmetal Alchemist dvd. You'd think more people would check it out.

I just watched the end of this series today. I loved it!!! I saw it on Netflix and just decided to give it a shot. If more people would check out the less popular titles they actually might find they liked them. The only thing I was saddened about was that after finishing the series, I decided to read the review on Netflix about this series. It got a good rating, but it was ridiculed for having a terrible ending. I didn't find the ending bad at all. If you pay attention to the series you'll figure it out yourself.

And just to answer the question previously asked..my all time favorite character was Hiyono. I still can't get that weird song out of my head.

I also loved Rio, but that's just because she was too cute..despite the fact that she was pretty evil in the begining.

reply

Yeah, I wish more people would watch this. I loved the whole series. I must admit, I do wish the ending was a bit different, but that doesn't detract from how much I loved the series. And like you said. If you think a little about it, you can figure it out. Or at least come up with your own solution to the series.

I really loved this show and wish more people would watch it.

You wanna see a dead board for a seemingly good anime? Go check out the GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) boards...

And to michelewalk, maybe the reason people were trashing the ending to the anime is that they've read the manga this anime is based on. When compared to the manga, they leave out so many details, sooo much stuff unexplained or merely suggested. Like, for example, they don't really explain how the Blade Children came to be, why the missing rib, how many BC are there, what did Kiyotaka do to earn the respect of the BC in just 2 years, who exactly are the Hunters, how do they know about the BC, and what is this "curse" they keep talking about... And...
...
[MANGA SPOILERS]
...
... you never find out that Kiyotaka actually is alive, and returns in the end; that Ayumu IS Kiyotaka in a sense, because they're not brothers, but clones; and how each of the Blade Children decides his/her own fate in the end(like that Ryo ends up difusing land mines in third-wirld conutries, and such).

So, even though on its own right the series might be OK, it falls short of the expectations of those who watched it because they liked the manga. Kind of like how the Harry Potter BOOK fans usually hate the movies...

Well, that's my 2 cents!

...There's a MANGA???

I feel really stupid for not knowing that, but I had no idea.

Is it for sale in the States? If not, is there a site where I can read it? (Is it known as Spiral? Maybe I saw it but didn't realize what it was.)

(I really feel dumb...) Please post, I'd like more Spiral, and now that I know there is more, (and since I'm to lazy to look it up for myself) could you tell me where to find it?

I'm not sure where you can find a translated copy of the manga, but you can learn more about it in wikipedia:

I love the anime. It just the end. Yes Ayumu found himself and realize he just has to the best he can. But it left so much questions in the air. Basically I didn't like the ending because of that reason. I haven't read the manga it want them to hurry up and release the manga already.

reply

I know! And not only is there the original manga, but now they have something called Spiral Alive which I hear takes place before the story, so it might fill in more of the blanks.

I wonder why the manga hasn't been released over here. (as in the US) I hope it makes its way here soon.
