OK Hollywood Hitler, copyright infringement is bad but if you are left with no other choice I see no problem with it.
I bought Fraggle Rock on eBay for my woman. At the time there was no way to watch it on TV and no DVD release in sight. She loved the show and wanted to relive it. Now that it is coming to DVD I will buy it for her even though she has the bootlegs.
I have copied many DVDs in my time and have bought 100s that I liked. I feel that if a product is worth the cash it will get it, but to avoid spending too much on crap infringement is the way to go.
As for the "(It's) harming all the people who spent time and money on the show for you to be profiting from it" come on now. Copyright infringement hurts the three people or the big studios that make money on that type of DVD release. Its not like John Q, electrician gets his share after initial production is finished.
Bottom line, if you make a good product people will spend money to see it and archive it in their collections. If the product is sub-par many people feel the need not to take a chance and support it.
