Bullet in the head *spoilers*

At the end of the film, Hau gets shot in the head but then still has enough life left in him to discover Yan's transmitter. Now I'll be the first to admit that I'm not entirely educated on this type of thing, and pretty much everything I know I've learned from movies (sad, I know), but is it possible to be shot in the head and not be killed instantly?

You will lose conscience rapidly under normal circumstances.

Quite possible. One of the more famous examples would be Buck Barrow, Clyde's (of Bonnie and Clyde) brother. He lived for 5 days after taking a bullet in the head, and was concious soon after being hit. It really depends on where you're hit and what happens to the bullet (for example, if it exits the skull or richochets inside it).

Yes but if he remained conscious for several moments then why would not have shot Sam? Even as a reflex action? His gun was right at his head.

Its possible his nervous system got damaged and he lost some movement.

Soooooooooo, we are not talking about Jacky Cheung's character in "THE FILM", Bullet In The Head????

Well, that shot got Hau in the middle of the forehead, death would have been instantaneous, I guess it was all for dramatic effect for him to find the transmitter.

reply

Well, the bullet went into his head, though he was conscious, he was too weak to do anything else. Yan had to lift him and that was where he found the transmitter.
