Many people seem to be writing that this movie's plot is quite individual to Macedonia. I don't think the plot would have been any different or Marko's reaction if he lived in any other country. I do felt there is the idea that life in Macedonia is harder then a MEDC (More Economically Developed Country) but that doesn't matter because the truth is his situation is messed up because he is being failed by anyone he can look up to. What do you think?

Macedonia isn't that bad. THe same story could have been told in some poor American place.

While on the surface Mirage could have taken place in most developing countries the whole point of this movie is that it's an allegory about Macedonia itself. Marko is Macedonia.
