Can someone explain why the teacher calls Levi Jovica? His father calls him Levi, his friends call him Levi, only the teacher calls him Jovica? Is it some kind of a slur? And is it the reason Levi does not respond to it until the teacher really raises his voice?

I'm not sure why he would call him that. It definitely isn't a slur and Levi is Albanian so Jovica would not make any sense at all.
