I wish the storyline had been Mia and Andrew falling in love

Anyone else wish the storyline had been Mia and Andrew falling in love with each other instead? I understand the whole women can do anything men can do and changing the law so she didn't have to be married to become queen angle, but I can't help but think it would have been more romantic for Mia and Andrew to fall in love.

I just saw it for the first time (well most of it) and I felt the same way. I understand why they did the law changing et cetera but I wish they would have found some way for her and Andrew to fall in love. I didn't really like Chris Pine's character (or his hair, sorry). Well I warmed up to him a little bit but I still didn't like the way the storyline was handled.

There was something about Andrew that I liked, and he wasn't bad to look at. The other guy kind of bored me - maybe it was the actor.

Not me.

I wish that would have been the story line too. I felt that Andrew was far better then Nicolas. In all honesty, I know people will hate me, I wasn't a fan of Mia in this movie...mainly cuz how she was toward Andrew when Nicolas was around. I know she was doing it for her country but she just bugged me. I think I would have liked the movie much more if the story had her and Andrew fall in love.

I agree with you. I found myself like Mia less and less for how she treated Andrew. He was a gentleman and stuck by his word and commitment. He put up with a lot from her and treated her wonderfully. He defended her at all times and was still willing to go through with the wedding even after how she behaved with Nicolas, stating that she chose him, he accepted, and would stand by his word as a gentleman. I wish that they had found a way for them to fall in love.

I agree, I think I would have been lovely for them to feel akward at first for the marriage to be arrange and then find that they do actually love each other. And they still could have worked in the "she should not have to be married to be queen" thing by having them decide to get to know each other before marriage and deciding to wait to be married.
