Raven's costumes insulting?

I love Raven-Symone being in this movie, but I found some of her costumes insulting. Some of them were great, Put some of them were low-budget Queen Latifah tributes. Is that what they think African princesses are? Did they do any research?

I found her whole character to be insulting! She is supposed to be an African princess from some West African country most likely judging by her outfit, and yet she speaks and sings with an American accent. It's ridiculous! And then people wonder why this movie bombed.

Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!

The one and only reason they had her in the film at all was because she was the studio's "Favorite Pet" at the time. They tended to do that with the different Disney Kids that were on tv during that time. Raven and Hillary Duff were among the top contenders at that time for being the Chosen Pets because both could sing, act, and dance, so they would try to promote them as much as possible. But to stick Raven into this movie made very little sense at all. She really did not fit in with the rest of the story.
