Depp's accent was not supposed to be British!!!
Just thought I'd clear something up!! There is a big argument on here (somewhere)about Johnny's accent being a cr*p British one. Where the hell does the movie ever suggest that Cap'n Jack is British?
His accent is supposed to leave you guessing, he's meant to sound like he's always partly drunk; not British!
I also think the phrase 'another bad accent' is very offensive. Johnny was very highly commended for his Bostonian accent in Blow, I've seen it; it was agreat film and a very good accent. Plus, he's a great actor; who cares what his accents sound like?!
I'm British, and nowhere in the whole country did I ever here an accent even remotely like Jack's, I really am quite intrigued as to where you got the idea that his accent was supposed to be British, please tell me!
p.s.I thought Colin Farrell's accent in American outlaws was really good, or am I just not clued up on what you sound like if you come from Missouri?
