Can anyone explain..

..why so many people are playing Bob Dylan? I mean, I know they're representing different aspects of him and his life, but Cate Blanchett?? That seems too weird, and the preview made it no clearer.

just don't worry about it

Well, I'd like to see the movie, and in order to do so I need to understand what it's on about.

reply

The fact that you have to ask why just means that you probably won't like the movie and you probably aren't much of a Bob Dylan fan. So basically I was just saying you shouldn't worry about it because you probably shouldn't see it because you probably won't like it.

Cate Blanchett probably gives the strongest and most convincing performance here, despite being a woman. Note that back then Dylan himself had several feminine qualities.

And the six actor thing works quite well, given all the changes in Dylan's looks (from shy folk singer to rock & roll star to cowboy) and persona.

Thank you. Sounds interesting, just hope it's not too vague.

reply

Ewwwww!! Blanchett is prob the worst. The whole time I'm thinking what they did with her chest, why Dylan all of a sudden has a lisp, how "he" looked so tiny and "his" strange walk.

She did as well as a woman could playing Bob Dylan, but seriously, how ridiculous.

reply

Bob Dylan is much tinier than Blanchett...sooo...yeah.
