But I liked it.

Biopics are the most difficult genre to do, as they're almost always formulaic, with a scene or two in flashback to explain everything. Life isn't like that. It's more like the unfinished puzzles that, in Citizen Kane, were symbolic of that life, that couldn't be easily explained, certainly not in a movie.

Haynes understood that with Dylan it's even more difficult, and the only way was to try to present an idea of Dylan, and not the person. As I wrote in a separate post:

I had to rearrange their faces,
and give them all another name."
