Who's the blonde girl in the Cate Blanchett scenes?

The girl in his entourage in those scenes who punches out the waiter with the knife.

What I mean is, does she correspond to someone in real life, or is she just a groupie in the movie? If anyone has any ideas...

reply

yes, she is the heiress who was introduced to dylan by andy warhol, she later died of an overdose,
Edie Sedgwick

reply

No, I didn't mean the Michelle Williams character. Coco is Edie. This other girl was the one in the black hat, gave Jude flowers when he got off the plane, knocked out the knife-wielding waiter, always hanging around the band. In the movie I think they call her Mona. But thanks anyway.

Maybe Marianne Faithfull? She was hanging around with Dylan for a little bit on one of his English tours.

However, I never heard of her disarming any waiters or sticking up for Neuwirth when Dyan was in venom spitting mode.

I wondered this too. Julianne Moore is Baez; Michelle Williams is Edie; Charlotte Gainsbourg is Sara/Suze. The shot where Dylan responds to his favourite reporter ("I don't feel any of those") focuses on her, with Dylan reflected in the window-- makes it seem as though she has some significance.

Whether she just represents the groupie-types Dylan (probably) chewed up and spat out during that period? I don't know.

Well, that actress makes a point of standing, leaning in a doorway, like Sally Grossman in "Don't Look Back." She smokes in the same way. I'd say that character was a nod to Sally Grossman. You see the "Albert Grossman" character there with his particular mannerisms and wavy gray hair. Where Albert is, it follows that Sally would be there, too. Sally was a brunette, of course, but Haynes isn't being literal here.
