When the boy dresses as his mom

Isn't that Asia Argento really? I mean when he seduces the boyfriend, it's not actually one of the Sprouse kids playing that is it?

reply

Its both. We see the boy dressed up as his mom and then we see it from the boyfriend’s perception. He was drunk or high and thought the boy was the mom.

reply

Yes, that's what it's meant to indicate. And it really is Asia Argento in that scene, not the Sprouse twins.

reply

In the book, the boyfriend has a "little girl" fetish. He knew that it was Jerimiah dressed in his mother's baby-doll clothes, and he tried to resist, but at last ended up raping him.

I will bet the Sprouse kids' mother or someone objected to the kid(s) dancing around provocatively. They were already famous when this movie was made, right? So their people could probably object and be appeased.

reply

He didn't think he was he was his mom, he kept saying "boy, theirs something wrong with you". It was disgusting, and honestly, the most unrealistic part of the movie. I don't think a heterosexual male is going to see a little boy dressed in drag and think "I know you are a little boy, but what the hell I guess I will knock it out"

reply

Is this reply directed at me? I didn't say the guy thought Jeremiah was his mom. The boyfriend had a "little girl" fetish; that's why the mom would wear those little girl dresses when she & the boyfriend would get it on (HE bought those clothes for her). Jeremiah knew this, which is why he dressed up in the exact same clothes.

You don't necessarily know that the guy was heterosexual. You should keep in mind that these are drug addicts, alcoholics and prostitutes. When one lives this sort of lifestyle, sometimes anything goes. The man had a little girl fetish, and if he was drunk enough, he could fantasize that J was in fact a little girl.

reply

I did misunderstand some of the points that were being expressed, for that I apologize.

That being said, I have experience around drug addiction, growing up around a drug addicted mother and as a police officer with six years of my career being on the street on "skid row", I have rarely found straight men that cross over into gay sex. Regardless of addiction, on occasion in extreme cases it will happen with prostitution, but it is not common. I have found that when an adult male preys on a male child, it is in a case that it is an attempt to keep their sexual orientation a secret. I have never been in a jail or prison any further than intake, so I can't offer insight on that in anyway.
You are correct as far as not knowing the boyfriend's true sexual orientation or if he was intoxicated enough to just give in thinking he was a little girl and to indulge that desire. To those points, I will concede, however, I don't think either of these were the case.
I still think it was an unlikely situation in the movie and as unbelievable as a monster in science fiction. To have three things such as, the boy's actions in dressing like his mother to have sex with the BF, the man's willingness to just have sex with the boy and the mother being jealous of it happening. One or two of these things are possible, but I just can't believe everyone's separate reactions to this situation. I know it is just a movie, but this is a forum to second guess and debate what happens in movies.

I understand your points,I just disagree. People do things while intoxicated that they wouldn't do normally all the time. You know, like kill their significant other in a fit of drunken rage. But you are definitely entitled to your opinion.

There was a lot of controversy surrounding the writer of the novel (which I did read, though I knew it was a hoax). The author is someone who is familiar with child prostitution and sex work, though. I'm sure she's seen all kinds of depravity.

Just from knowing the creepy freaks I have met during my life time, I believe any kind of deviance is possible. People are *beep* up.

reply

Fair enough, we have an agreement to disagree. I do appreciate your civility in discussing opposing view points. Too often, this is not the case.

Most men will have sex with absolutely ANYthing... as long as their friends won't find out. Trust me on this one.

reply

Uh, that depends on the man. I have a thing for Asia Argento. And I wouldn't mind her dressed as a little girl. But an actual little girl or a boy dressed as a little girl? That's not just a line I WON"T cross, but a line I DON'T EVEN WANT to cross. There isn't enough alcohol in the world to make me do some things.

But even saying "most men" is a huge generalization. The vast majority men are NOT pedophiles, drunk or sober. I'm sorry if you think otherwise, but you're wrong.
